Tetracycline, Erythromycin, Minocycline, Doxycycline, and Clindamycin are the more commonly prescribed antibiotics that are used for acne control. They do not come without their side effects though. It works best when applied after a regular face wash regime, and only a small pea sized dot is needed to cover the entire face. It is normally used once a day at night, but may sometimes need to be limited to every other day if irritation occurs.
